Motorboat Blast in Florida Injures Eleven

(MENAFN) A motorboat carrying 13 passengers erupted in flames Monday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to reports from the U.S. Coast Guard and local media. The violent blast occurred as the vessel attempted to depart from the New River Triangle sandbar while anchored.

Emergency responders confirmed that up to 11 individuals, including two children, sustained injuries and were promptly rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Witnesses described passengers being violently thrown into the water by the force of the explosion.

The precise cause behind the sudden detonation remains undetermined. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesperson Frank Guzman stated, Passengers were thrown into the water by the blast, while the reason for the explosion remains unclear.

Authorities from multiple agencies, including local fire investigators, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, have launched a coordinated probe to determine the circumstances leading to the blast.
